03.25.2012 Version 1.57 Firmware available!
PLEASE UPDATE YOUR GATEWAY TO V1.57 FIRMWARE
V1.57 is now available CLICK HERE!... this incorporates a "friendly" wake up from sleep strategy. Some vehicles didn't like the sequence of the power up and could cause things like dash lights to light and such. This is now rectified in v1.57.

V1.4 Beta testing winding down
Because of the influx of customers wanting features for some new platforms (PowerStroke diesels and GM Kappa cars) we're going to do a quick turn around to release v1.4 quickly to get everyone up to date.
This release includes the OBDII READINESS MONITOR status feature (very handy when checking to see if you're ready to get emissions tested) and a lot of optimizing of the A/D input parameters for external sensors such as EGTs, fuel pressure senders, etc.
We anticipate submitting to the approval process either 3.1.2012 or 3.2.2012 (unless something pops up in final testing), so it should be on the App Store in 7-10 days after that.

V1.3 is now available on the App Store. You can download the v1.50 firmware HERE! We are starting v1.4 Beta rounds now with new features, more parameters, and optimization efforts.
02.14.2012 Version 1.3 submitted to Apple's iTunes App Store for final approval
V1.3 should be available by 02.24.2012
V1.3 Beta testing has gone very well. As a result, v1.3 has been submitted to the iTunes App Store for approval and review (02.14.2012). Normally, review and approval take between 5 and 7 days so we expect to see the new version by 02.24.2012 by the latest. The new version incorporates fixes for the DCx transmission temperature on early LX platforms, MANY new extended parameters for Fords, a new menu system for the support screens, and new configuration options for (optional) A/D 0-5 volt sensor inputs.
02.9.2012 Version 1.3 to be released soon
Target Date is on or before 02.14.2012
Testing has gone very well and the new Ford parameters are looking very good on the PowerStroke Diesels and F150s that we've tested with. Several optimizations and "under the hood" tweaks are working well. We are looking to finish testing by 02.10.2012 and wrap up any remaining loose ends to submit v1.3 to iTunes App Store. Once that is complete, we will start laying out tasks for v1.4.

VIN Issue looks to be fixed
Testing has shown that early (03/04) Ford PowerStroke Diesels didn't have a VIN programmed into their ECUs (!), which caused us to not know they were Fords and to limit access to parameters. The fix for that is under test and preliminary indications are that it's fixed! The same code may have also fixed an issue we had with Subaru VINs!
New Ford Specific Parameters
The new Ford parameters include a bunch of both gas and diesel parameters, including Injector Control stuff for the PowerStrokes, variable cam stuff for the gassers, and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Urea Injection stuff for the latest PowerStrokes. We will probably layer in additional parameters sprinkled in over the next few releases (for all makes actually) as we get access to test vehicles to play with.
Video Output
Output now will fill up an external monitor screen and the base "background" is black for any screens that are low resolution. We are working on optimizing performance further as well.
Pioneer AppRadio
NDAs and such have been exchanged and we're awaiting access to developer tools from them. This looks to be pretty cool! We're thinking that this maybe something that goes in v1.4+ becuase it's going to take a little time to look it over, decide how to integrate it and test.

Testing has ferretted out the elusive Transmission Temperature reading for '04-08 Chrysler vehicles and it is working in the test vehicles!

Attention has now shifted to optimization and rescaling of the video output for external monitors.
Pioneer AppRadio
We have met with Pioneer at the CES show in Las Vegas and have entered into an NDA to investigate getting Dashboss on their platform. Neat stuff!

Version 1.2 of the iOS software has been released and is available NOW! FREE upgrade to existing owners with all the new features and updates! There has been an ongoing effort to update features and "look and feel" based on the input from the Beta testers, including the new "skins" feature, better performance and more vehicles supported.

12.12.2011 Version 1.2 iOS software submitted to Apple iTunes for Approval!
New v1.2 coming to an iOS device near you SOON!
Version 1.2 of the iOS software has been Beta tested on various iOS devices, and vehicles and is ready to be run through the Apple approval process. This is normally a 5-10 day turnaround, but it may take a bit longer due to Holiday shutdowns/slowdowns and the planned maintenance shutdown of the iTunes store over Christmas.
In conjunction with Apple approval of v1.2 there will be a NEW FIRMWARE VERSION 1.37 posted to the downloads section of the web site to match it.

BETA TESTING OF NEW FEATURES UNDERWAY
Version 1.2 of the iOS software is underway and here's a little sneak peek of one of my favorite new features.
These updates include:
- Ability to change the background (choose from 30 different ones), the outer gauge color (choose from 3 ... maybe some more coming), and inner gauge color (7 different ones).
- New buttons and graphics
- Fixes/tweaks for iOS 5, including the "down swipe"

10.23.2011 V1.21 FIRMWARE Update Released!
FIRMWARE V1.21 AVAILABLE IN THE DOWNLOADS SECTION OF THIS SITE
Version 1.21 of the GATEWAY FIRMWARE is a minor update with some bug fixes and enhancements to stability.
These updates include:
- 22bit CAN fix if you plug the gateway into the car the first time with the KEY OFF, the gateway would "go to sleep" after 10-20 seconds and not wake up unless you plugged it in with the KEY ON. Now it will go to sleep and wake up when the key is turned back ON. This was only a problem on the FIRST time the gateway was plugged in.
- Stability fix for the apparent data "freeze". There was a small timing window where the firmware and iOS device could get out of sync while passing data and it resulted in the screen "freezing" with the last data update. A simple down swipe and reenter the screen would "unfreeze" it. This was most prevalent in the Digital View screen ... sometimes it would run for days with no problems and other times it would do it within 5-10 minutes of continuous running. FINALLY found this and fixed it in the firmware!
- Small bug fixes to "clean up" some areas for faster response and better stability.

Version 1.1 is our first major update to the Dashboss and includes many features and bug fixes based on the feedback of our enthusiastic community!
These updates include:
- Bluetooth Auto-Connect. Now Dashboss will automatically connect and authenticate with your iPhone/touch/iPad any time you are in range and the vehicle key is on (after initial pairing).
- We have added the option for a VIDEO OUT signal so you can display on external monitors (with appropriate Apple connection kit)
- NEW digital view screen with all parameters on one screen
- Many enhancements for DuraMax diesel vehicles to allow the use of Dashboss in conjunction with aftermarket tuner modules
- Major rewrite of the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) feature to provide better compatibilty with European and Japanese cars
- Many fixes and enhancements

07.13.2011 - v1.1 Release is coming together
Great feedback from Testers and Users!
Based on some very good testing and iterations with testers, the firmware for auto-connect is looking to be very solid! We are working with the testers to knock down the last "rough edges"!
New features, such as a 12 way digital display, the video out (for demonstration purposes), and similar "goodies" continue to be whittled down and are looking good. We will be "freezing" the feature set for v1.1 in the next week or so. Then we can run through a rigorous prePrelease test with our intrepid Beta troop before releasing to the App Store.
06.21.2011 - Beta Testing Continues
New features and improvements are being tested on a variety of vehicles
We are working with a nice cross section of vehicles and driving environments in our Beta test program to finish up testing for the upcoming v1.1 relesae via the App Store. This release will incorporate some or all of the features list at left, depending on testing and feedback. We hope to release this in early August.
The key feature to be added will be an "auto-connect" mode to the device so as long as the car is ON, the iOS device is in range, and you have previously paired and connected with the gateway, it will automatically reconnect and authenticate. This will also entail a FIRMWARE upgrade, which is VERY simple (drag and drop with the Gateway connected to a desktop PC/Mac).

It is NOT a software only product, rather it's the ONLY "MADE FOR iPhone and iPod" certified product of its type using a combination of an App and the custom Bluetooth® Gateway.

05.11.2011 - DashBoss™ Gateways Manufactured
DashBoss™ Gateways - First Batch completed and tested!

Over the past three days we have been working with our manufacturing partner to run the first batch of DashBoss™ Gateway hardware on their SMT assembly lines. Thanks to their meticulous setup and excellent documentation process, the boards were run and only minor corrections to parts "stuffing" had to be made. Once those tweaks were implemented via troubleshooting and testing, the first batch was run "end to end". The boards were then completely assembled (cables, cases, stickers, etc.) and put in an automated test "jig" to program them and run them through a series of tests for all major functions.
As a testament to the process, all the boards run through the final process passed with flying colors and no "rework". That's pretty impressive!
This first batch will be packed and shrink wrapped as soon as the box sleeves arrive (scheduled for Friday May 12).
